Life Lately: What 2022 taught me
We all welcome the new year with a bash, a lot of dreams, resolutions. I do the same. 2022 was sort of like a sudden change in everyone's life. The Pandemic showed it's reversing effects and everyone was trying to get again and fit into thier normal lives.
2022 gave me a lot of things. A lot of life realisations as well that I can never ever forget.
Here's some of my life lessons that 2022 taught me:
1. Take life as it comes: This doesn't actually mean- to go with the flow. I personally hate that statement - Go with the flow! What if the flow is taking you to the gutters? What if the flow is telling you to jump off a cliff?
My whole point is that : listen to what your heart is saying, stay intuitive, stay creative. Accept what life is offering to you. My spiritual Guru, Mr Kamlesh D. Patel also called as Daaji always says: 'Control what you can and accept what you cannot'. Accept what is the truth and keep on working hard.
2. There's no bigger competitor than you, yourself!
I'm a big Shah Rukh Khan fan, and the people around me know that very very well. SRK always says that: There's always someone going to be smarter than you, more good looking than you and more talented than you, more hardworking than you. But is that something you should worry about? No! I get up every morning and try to be better than the version of me yesterday. I have only one competitor. That's myself.
SRK is so gorgeous, isn't he? OMG! OMG! These words have truly inspired me. I can go on forever about SRK.
3. Whatever you do, do with your whole heart.
Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men.
~Bible
My Mom always says that. However, I don't listen to her all the time but this has actually helped me to get a little disciplined at times when I procrastinate a lot.
I have spent a lot of time trying to figure what this actually means, because this brought so many questions in my mind when I read that. What does doing something with your heart actually mean? What if my heart is not liking the work I need to do?
Here's what I understand: If you already like/love you have to do.. Well and good. Bravo.
If not then try - "Fake it till you make it". Pretend to enjoy doing it. Pretend to like it. It works just as couples in the Pretend Relationship movies end up falling in love, in the end (eventually).
Bro, It's what the efforts matter. See, you gotta explore everything to get closer you your calling, your passion. *If we don't try, how will we know?*
Remember that.
I guess I'm done with that. This was fun. Thanks for reading this. Please share your thoughts and all suggestions are welcome.
I'll try staying consistent this year.
Bye!
Ciao!
